Algunos fantasmas nunca desaparecen. Una y otra vez regresan. Tal es el caso de la codiciada Refinería Valero de San Nicolás. Aún no cicatrizan las heridas que en Aruba y en distintos gobiernos dejaron el tristemente célebre magnate Roberto Rincón, el narcotraficante Hugo “El Pollo” Carvajal y la plana mayor de PDVSA y CITGO designados por el dictador Nicolás Maduro, cuando el mismo sempiterno ministro de la Isla está montando otro tinglado para ponerle de una vez por todas a la refinería.
Lo que sucede ahora es que después de varios fracasos buscan y aparecen nuevos actores: inversores venidos desde el Medio Oriente, el más acérrimo enemigo del gobierno de USA, corruptos operadores venezolanos, que no pueden faltar en la trama y los jerarcas en Venezuela de la empresa petrolera española REPSOL, condición sine qua non impuesta por Glen para concretar cualquier acuerdo.
Algún día José Alfonso García De La Incera, Luis Polo, José Ramos y Esteller Rodríguez tendrán que brindar explicaciones al parlamento y a la justicia española, sobre su nocivo proceder.
Por ahora nos despedimos e iniciamos esta historia de intrigas, corrupción y avaricia desmedida, en desmedro del legado de Gilberto François “Betico” Croes con la frase más llamativa de la leonina carta de intención donde se exige evitar a toda costa el “estilo de negociación venezolano algo así como dirían en Suramérica, “paquete chileno” o lo que es peor; las temidas «estafas nigerianas».

Something smells bad at the Valero Refinery
Some ghosts never go away. Time and time again they return. Such is the case of the coveted Valero Refinery in San Nicolás. The wounds left in Aruba and in different governments by the infamous tycoon Roberto Rincón, drug trafficker Hugo «El Pollo» Carvajal and the senior staff of PDVSA and CITGO appointed by dictator Nicolás Maduro have not yet healed, when the everlasting minister of Isla is setting up another shed to put the refinery down once and for all.
What is happening now is that after several failures, new actors are looking for and appearing: investors from the Middle East, the staunchest enemy of the US government, corrupt Venezuelan operators, who cannot be absent from the plot, and the Venezuelan hierarchs of the Spanish oil company REPSOL, a sine qua non condition imposed by Glen to finalize any agreement.
One day José Alfonso García De La Incera, Luis Polo, José Ramos and Esteller Rodríguez will have to provide explanations to the Spanish parliament and justice regarding their harmful behavior.
For now we say goodbye and begin this story of intrigues, corruption and excessive greed, to the detriment of the legacy of Gilberto François «Betico» Croes with the most striking phrase of the leonine letter of intent where it is demanded to avoid at all costs the «negotiation style Venezuelan something like they would say in South America, «Chilean package» or what is worse; the dreaded “Nigerian scams”.
